As we know the UAE employment market is very rich and diverse and many employers face challenges around providing the appropriate care whilst taking care of their employees

In order to provide a consistent,fair,effective and efficient service organisation must have policies procedures and training to help their personnel treat colleagues and customers equally and fairly.The main themes are to encourage respect and integration,and to make it clear that discrimination is not tolerated.

Among custom and culture awareness,there are several things that employees can do to promote and maintain their diverse workforce including :

following best practice in all aspect of their work making clear that discrimination is not tolerated reporting incident immediately regardless from where it comes from support and encourage colleagues to challenge unsafe practices themselves attending training on diversity,equality and inclusion personnel to observe,understand and respect different dress code and symbols be respectful and aware on how genders can be treated in different culture e.g. some people must not agree with the fast development of healthcare as they are used to the old system and expect to be treated in the same way as past practices be sensitive to the person gender be discreet and allow privacy learn about festivals and customs for other culture so everyone could understand the main points and can hold an informed conversation with the customers be polite,curteous and friendly at all times speak clearly and slowly avoiding local saying e.g. slang repeat very clear -using different words,gestures or a diagram to help customer understand the message what is passed across stay calm when they are not sure how to handle situation To sum up the main objective is to treat every customer,colleague and work contact as an individual with respect and patience whatever their background or culture. In partnership we can support healthcare providers to get a clear picture about the equality and diversity in the workplace ,how this can be promoted and developed further.
